...5/6 in the Australian Clubs Teams Championship (board 3 winner) + a mercy dash from the airport to bail the team out versus Logan City...

Dear fellow Bullwinkians and aliens, I am stunned, flabbergasted, yet honoured to be named as 2004 Bullwinkle player of the year. I honestly have little recollection of playing any decent games, or in fact actually playing chess at all that year, and I feel as though this award has come in true Stephen Bradbury fashion, with other, more worthy contenders collapsing in the midst of one god-all-mightily-stupid collision. In fact, my memory is so vague, I'm half convinced that I myself in fact spent the year in the middle of such collisions. I don't know what the judges were on, but I can assure you that I did not supply them with any of it. In light of the truly chaotic nature of the events of this truly historic year, I have no choice but to (truly) proclaim my victory song as: FLOAT ON (by: Modest Mouse). So to all you doubters and wowsers, go shove that up ya pencil case, and thanks for the memories.
